Friends of Thompson’s Black Rock Park

Fluid Solar Roasted Coffee

Fluid Solar Roasted Coffee is a small-scale, environmentally conscious coffee roaster located just a short walk down the road from the park. It is owned by Lorraine and Bill Kemp (Lorraine is the daughter of Mary and Russell Thompson). Lorraine and Bill have lived off of the electrical grid for 25 years, generating electricity and heat directly from renewable sources. Their coffee is delightful and roasted using energy generated entirely on their property by renewable sources. Nothing goes better with a morning sunrise at the lakeside than a hot cup of their coffee! It is available for purchase in the Park Store.

Thompsontown Maple Products

Thompsontown Maple Products is a 6,000 tap maple operation situated on Thompson’s Black Rock Park. It is owned by Ray and Wayne Thompson, and was started in 1982. It restarted a long standing tradition of making maple syrup on the property, one that has been in the Thompson name for over 175 years. Their award winning maple syrup, sugar and butter is available at the sugar camp during the springtime maple season (March & April) and at the Park Office during the off season. Come discover the sweetness, by tasting their products or exploring the maple forests throughout the park.
